Ed Wood - Official Trailer
Ed Wood was a movie that I had found out about through random internet exploration. I had known about Ed Wood himself and his series of B-movies. Only after that had I found out about this movie. The movie follows Ed Wood and his film making career.
The Mise En Scène in this trailer can be the many sets that recreate the filming scenes of Ed Wood movies and this picture for example. It shows the banner of Bride of the Atom. This is one of Ed Wood's films starring Bela Lugosi, a famous actor for playing Dracula. This scene looks like the grand opening of the movie and its premier showing. The trailer also presents sets of films by Ed Wood.
The cinematography in the trailer shows a lot of long shots and over the shoulder shots to give some perspective. You almost feel the Ed is somewhat speaking to you. It also shows full shots of sets and rooms to give setting.
The editing in the movie is very fast-paced. It cuts very fast into many different scenes and they are also presented by the voice over done. All of the scenes are also in black white in which we can think that all of the movie is in black and white. The different scenes show a lot of the narrative. Since there isn't a conclusion to spoil necessarily, the editing allows us to see more of the movie without showing all of it.
The sound in the trailer is very well put. It plays a very classical sounding for all of the trailer showing Ed Wood's personality. From the trailer, we can see that he is a very eccentric man with a weird personality. It also allows for the feel of being classic because of the time period of Ed Wood. The voice over also helps introduce Ed Wood as a person. The sound is all fast paced considering the kind of life that Ed Wood is living. He makes films for a living and he has ideas every second. He is notorious for making a lot of B-movies and this relives his legacy.
